Zee Bangla is a Bengali languageCable television channel in India and Bangladesh. It is offered by Zee Network, part of the Essel Group.[1][2] The first Bengali-language television channel in India,[3] Zee Bangla was launched in 1999 by Zee's TV chairman.[3]
It aired the comedy show 'Raja and Gaja' before the show switched stations.[4]
It has its own YouTube Channel and has over 4 million subscribers.[5]

“Hare Paglu, Hare Paglu
Paglu Paglu Hare Hare”- chanted Sarbojaya while showing the incense sticks in front of a picture of Bollywood superstar Dev. Her dead husband Harihar scolds her from the photo frame due to her dedication for Dev. Enters Apurba Sundar better known as Apu and he introduces his other family members. This is a short glimpse of the new Zee Bangla non-fiction show Apur Sangsar.
Apart from his parents, Apu’s family consists of his wife Sharmila Sundar and two brothers namely Dipendro Sundar and Tapendro Sundar. The basic premise of this fiction show is that Apu is an unemployed individual. He gives an advertisement in a newspaper asking for a tenant for a room in his house which is located close to the Tollygunje film studios. Various celebrities come to the show and it is the interaction with the celebrities which induce much humor and fun in the show.
Speaking about the show, director Subhankar Chattopadhyay said “This is not like the other talk shows which are being aired on the other channels. The guests who will be coming will have to adhere to the script given to them by the channel. They will also be engaging in games in the course of the show”.
Some of the celebrities who will be seen in the show include Kanchan Mullick, Shrabanti, Oindrilla, Mousumi Chatterjee, Ranjit Mullick and so on.
Saswata Chatterjee will be seen in the role of Apu. Incidentally Apu is also his nickname. “This is my first stint in a show of this manner. We are having a good time shooting the episodes. It is taking about five to six hours to shoot each episode. Hope the audience likes it” said the actor.
Anirban Bhattacharya who had acted with Saswata Chatterjee in Arindam Sil’s Eagoler Chokh was ecstatic to be sharing screen space with the actor again. “This is my first stint in the small screen. To be able to work in a good project with such an amazing team makes me feel good. I play Tapendro Sundar who is a poet. His poetry is not appreciated by the readers” said the actor.

Sudipa Basu plays the role of Sarbojaya in this show. “I have worked with Saswata as his sister and now I play the role of his mother. I have also worked with Anirban in theatre. Sourav and Sanchari are also good in their roles. In short, this is a great team to work with” said Sudipa Basu.
Actress Sanchari plays the role of Sharmila Sundar while Sourav Das plays the role of Dipendro Sundar in this show.
Apur Sangsar will be aired from 26th January, from Thursday to Saturday at 9.30pm on Zee Bangla.
